Window Sensor

The Z-Wave Window Sensor application reports when a window (or a door) is getting opened/closed.

The Window Sensor transmits the following CC Notification types/events:

  • Home access control
    • Window/door open
    • Window/door close

The Window Sensor supports the "push mode" only of Notification CC.

ID Name Node Count Description
1 Lifeline 5 for Z-Wave, 1 for Z-Wave LR

Supports the following command classes:

  • Device Reset Locally: triggered upon reset.
  • Battery: triggered upon low battery.
  • Notification Report: triggered when the window (or door) is opened (simulated by pressing and holding BTN2) and when the window (or door) is closed (simulated by releasing BTN2).
  • Indicator Report: Triggered when LED1 changes state.

Buttons

Button Action Description
BTN0 Press Resets the chip.
BTN1 Press Toggles learn mode.
Hold (5sec) Resets the application to factory settings.
BTN2 Press Send a battery report.

LEDs

LED Behavior Description
Green Flashing Learn mode is active.
Off Learn mode is inactive.
